Born and raised in Trenchtown, Jamaican, reggae artist Ras Danny has been in integral component of the SLO County music seen for over 2 decades. A contemporary of Robert Nesta Marley, he has played and backed Reggae Grammy Legends like Black Uhuru, Lee Scratch Perry, Justin Hinds, and many others. He is the leader of ""Ras Danny & the Reggae All Stars"" as well as a performing acoustic guitar virtuoso. Ras Danny is a gifted artist, but more importantly, he has a big heart. He travels each year to his hometown to bring school supplies, guitars, musical instruments, and basic necessities to the children of Trenchtown.
Zongo All-Stars is a legendary Central Coast Afro Caribbean group that has brought a non-stop dance party to San Luis Obispo County since 2007. Zongo will feature a special lineup for the Mid State Fair featuring Dylan Johnson on bass, Jacob Odell on guitar, Justin Perkins on steel drum and percussion, and Jennings Jacobsen on drums. Their grooves are infectious, and their original music brings together many influences from the Caribbean to West Africa to the Middle East and beyond.
