Sunny Sweeney Booked!

The California Mid-State Fair is pleased to announce that Sunny Sweeney has been booked to perform on the Frontier Stage Thursday, July 29th at 6:30p & 8:30p. Sweeney’s performances will be free with your paid admission to the Fair.

Sunny Sweeney plays country music, plain and simple. Her debut album, Heartbreaker’s Hall of Fame, features the songs “If I Could”, “Ten Years Pass” and “East Texas Pines”. The album isn’t one of those quiet, timid, little baby-steps records that slowly grows on you with hints of future potential. Rather, it explodes into the room with an ultra-confident, Texas- sized “HOWDY!” and demands your full attention – now. The first thing that grabs you is her voice – a big, bold and brassy instrument that brings to mind classic female country singers of the 60’s and 70’s. It’s a voice that all but screams Sunny’s adopted slogan: “Get your honky-tonk on!

The 2010 California Mid-State Fair runs July 21, 2010, through August 1, 2010. This year’s theme is “Endless Summer Fun.”
